It can be overwhelming to feel like your world is crumbling around you. You start questioning your judgment and wondering if your kids would be better off not having you as a mother at all. I know where you are.

When your confidence flickers, you have to pick yourself up. Don’t wallow in self-pity. The only thing that will do is leave you feeling worse than you did to begin with. Apply some of these tips to boost your confidence instead.

Don’t set such high expectations. You are one woman and can only do so much at one time. Stop trying to fly from one thing to another, just to please everybody. You should already know by now that you will never please everybody. So do the things you love and enjoy, and let the rest go. Expecting more from yourself than you know you are capable of just hurts.

Real Life Guidance For MomsMake time for yourself. You are a momma, not Super Mom. The more you do for others, the more you deplete your own energy. Make time for you, girl! Set time commitments in a planner, then keep them. Hire someone you trust to babysit the kids for a night. Nobody will respect you or your Super Powers if you don’t first respect yourself.

Fix yourself up! New mommas are especially guilty of letting themselves go. Do you walk around in frumpy t-shirts and baggy britches? Throw those things out the front door. Whether you work outside the home, or you are an at-home momma, wear clothing that makes you feel great. Just because you are a momma, that doesn’t mean you’ve lost you.
